Paralytic hand deformities due to Poliomyelitis has virtually disappeared, while hand deformities due to Leprous neuritis (inflammation of the nerve) has drastically come down. Nerve injuries leading to paralysis are due to accidents, assaults and handling of dangerous equipment, sharp metal or broken glass etc. Wrist Drop, Claw Hands, Limp thumb or flail hands result from single, dual or triple nerve paralysis. Each require special attention- Nerve Transfers / Muscle transfers and/or small Joint stabilisation.

Paralysis of the Hand due to a single or multiple nerve injury in the hand and forearm, lead to poor sensation and weak hand. Open injuries with an associated fracture and/or tendon injury are composite problems requiring expert care right from when it happened. Delay in trauma Nerve injuries and swellings arising from or pressing upon the nerve, or the vary many arthritic conditions affecting some or all of the small joints. Early consultation with a Hand specialist helps to identify the problem and take remedial measures.
