Overview

Dr Vishwanath is a compassionate medical oncologist with years of experience and expertise in the medical field. He has an outstanding academic record with gold medals. He has received several awards and recognitions for his work in the field of oncology. Dr Vishwanath was conferred a Professorship by Apollo Hospitals Education and Research Foundation in 2018. In 2016 he received the ASH Abstract Achievement Award. He has authored the “Aetiopathogenesis of Gastric Cancer,” chapter in a Textbook on Gastric Cancer. He was also the principal co-investigator in many clinical trials. He also has several publications credited to him, including “The Paradigm of Early Phase Studies” in Hematological Malignancies, Comparison of Access to Novel Drugs for Lymphoma and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia Between India and the United States JCO Global Oncology, etc.

Work Experience

• He currently works as a Senior Consultant, Professor and Diplomates in the National Board (DNB) Thesis Guide, Department of Medical Oncology at Apollo Cancer Center.
• Till August 2016, he was a Clinical Fellow at the Division of Cancer Medicine Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
• He worked as the DM Program at Kidwai Institute of Oncology till July 2015.
• Dr Vishwanath then served as a Consultant Physician at Sagar Hospitals in Bangalore till June 2012.
• He worked as an MD Resident in Internal Medicine and Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University, till 2011.

Education

Dr Vishwanath completed his MBBS in 2004 from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University. He then went on to finish his MD in Internal Medicine in 2008 from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University. He received his DM in Medical Oncology in 2015 from the Kidwai Institute of Oncology.
