Overview

Dr Govindarajan is a highly skilled radiologist with nearly two decades of work experience specialising in Oncoimaging. He heads the Department of Oncoimaging and is an expert in interpreting imaging studies for cancer patients, including CT, MRI, PET CT scan, Mammography, and Ultrasound – Doppler. Dr Govindarajan has a special interest in breast imaging and interventions, for which he has been trained at IGR, Paris.

Apart from Oncoimaging, Dr Govindarajan is also skilled in Oncointerventions and Emergency Radiology. He has good communication skills and interacts optimally with referring clinicians. Dr Govindarajan is frequently consulted for his expert opinions and solutions on complex issues related to imaging in cancer patients and is an integral part of the multidisciplinary tumour board at Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore. Dr Govindarajan also provides second opinions on images and scans performed on cancer patients, both in person and using teleradiology platforms.

• Experience in – Radiography, Ultrasound, Doppler, Elastography, Contrast-enhanced ultrasound, digital mammography, DBT, PET CT scan and 3T MRI.
• Experience in treating Hepatocellular carcinoma – TACE, TARE, RFA, PEA
• Intra-arterial chemotherapy in limb sarcomas and head and neck carcinomas.
• Oncointerventions – Vascular, Non-surgical management of HCC, Biliary drainage, Biopsy & Aspirations, Pigtail drainage, internal fiducial placement to guide radiotherapy, Venous interventions, RFA, Alcohol ablations, IACT, etc.

Education

Dr Govindarajan holds an MBBS from Government Medical College, Mysore and MD from S P Medical College, Bikaner (Rajasthan University).
