Pain in the Hand: This is the most worrisome problem that one can experience. It is brought about by a Trapped nerve, pinched nerve or nerve injuries; and swellings arising from or pressing upon the nerve, or the vary many arthritic conditions affecting some or all of the small joints. Early consultation with a Hand specialist helps to identify the problem and take remedial measures.

E.g.: Trapped nerve or Pinched nerve at the wrist (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) or higher up in the forearm or arm (Cubital Tunnel syndrome, Radial Tunnel syndrome, Quadrilateral space syndrome, Thoracic outlet syndrome, etc); Trigger finger, de Quervain’s disease and specific tenosynovitis as in Rheumatoid arthritis affecting tendon sheath; Pain associated with pyogenic and granulomatous infections of the hand; Pain following Nerve injuries in the hand and forearm; Occult or apparent swellings or tumours that can originate from any tissue in the hand; Nerve tumours; Several arthritic conditions affecting small joints- Psoriatic arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoarthritis etc; Wrist injuries- fractures or ligamentous tears, etc.
